LEOPARDS WIN 14-13 OVER KIRKSEY
The Lincoln Leopards football team kicked off the 2016 season with a hard-fought 14-13 road victory over the Kirksey Cougars that came down to the final play. Ariel Bradic scored on a 49-yard touchdown catch from Cade Foster on the first offensive play of the game. Foster scrambled 6 yards for a touchdown to put the Leopards up 14-0. Kirksey battled back to cut the lead to 14-13 early in the 4th quarter. The Cougars attempted a two-point conversion that the Leopards stopped on the 1 yard line to hold on to the lead. Kirksey had one more chance with a 26-yard field goal attempt on the final play of the game which was blocked by Luke Miller to seal the Leopard victory. Bradic lead the Leopard defense with 11 tackles and one sack. Carson Cramer had 6 tackles. AJ Moss and Aquelle Gay recorded 3.5 tackles each. Bryan Smith had an interception late in the first half. Next week, the Leopards will face the Fulbright Timberwolves who also won on the road beating Woodland 44-14.
